Hot & Crusty opened its first store in 1980 at this exact location on Sixty-third Street and Second Avenue. Over the next couple of years, the company opened more stores, building complete bakeries into each one. In 1994, the company granted licenses for the use of the “Hot & Crusty” name. This proved very successful and in 1997, a new company called Hot & Crusty Franchise Corp. was created to franchise new stores. To this end, a central baking facility was acquired in which all bread doughs and pastries are made. All baking is done on a European deck oven, in front of the customers, thus creating interest in the baking activity and enticing diners with a delicious baking aroma. Try ordering for yourself.

This place is terrible. the people who work there are rude and condescending. I asked for a well toasted bagel and it came cold. Even the coffee is weak. I would never order from this place again.. they lack any semblance of customer service

The Proscuitto was really bad. It was very thickly sliced and tasted like rubbery/dry slices of ham. They did however give me something else after I complained, so there's that.

Asked for 3 toasted bagels with scallion cream cheese and a slice of tomato in each bagel. Received 3 non-toasted bagels with no tomato. Called to see if they could fix the order, got rejected because the guy didn't want to re-make the order. Will NEVER order from this place again. No sense of customer service!

This place is such a joke. Not really sure why we gave them so many chances. The first time we ordered from them,delivery time was supposed to be 15 to 30 minutes. The food showed up an hour and a half later and our "create your own salads" were not even close to what we ordered. Our second order was pretty much the same. Today, I just got off the phone with them (45 minutes after my 15-30 minute delivery time) and they say they never got the order. Please do not order from this dump. It's the most poorly run place I have ever tried to order from.

Have ordered from here twice. First time got sandwiches which were a very good size and tasty. The second time ordered pizza and antipasta salad. They then called me and told me they dont have antipasta, even though it is on their menu. I then had to call seamless web and explain to them what happened to get the money refunded. This took the convenience out of ordering.

1) were out of both potato and coleslaw 2) All six of the condiments we ordered were missing (including catsup for the hamburger) 3) sandwich made with balsamic vinegar had none Place needs to shape up because the food is good but not enjoyable when key ingredients are missing.

Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. Ordered am everything bagel with cream cheese, coffee and orange juice. What came: Plain bagel toasted with butter. Coffee. Sour Orange Juice. I called to complain and the guy told me I needed to bring the bagel in to get it replaced. I was in absolute shock. Then he hung up on me.

Only good if there's nothing else open....Pizza is pretty expensive and usually not as good as it looks (except for the chicken slice that was yummy!) Also the bakery part is usually disappointing, I've yet to find something that isnt disgustingly dried out. It looks really good, buts it's deceiving!

If I could get away with not giving them any stars I would. First of all, their story doesn't carry half the things on their menu, and second of all, what little they do carry runs out by early afternoon and apparently they "can't make any more sandwiches" - whatever that means. Avoid at all costs. Not only will it take them an hour to tell you they can't actually get you anything you've ordered, but on top of that, you'll have to call seamless to get a refund because the restaurant won't do it for you. An hour and a half after you've placed your order you'll be right back to where you started wishing you'd just chosen another restaurant. What a crock!

The customer service is horrible! I ordered a "create your own salad" and they left out the most expensive ingredients (i.e. Avocado and gave me the wrong tuna). They also added in ingredients I did not ask for/care for. It is as if they don't even read your order! When I called to complain and see if I could get a credit toward my next order, the man on the phone kept telling me that I was wrong-- that the guy who made my salad told him that he put in all the ingredients that I asked for and that I must be mistaken. The conversation was so infuriating I had to hang up on him. I will NEVER order from here again.

Same experience as others. They hadn't delivered my order in over an hour, I called to to be told that the item I ordered wasn't available and they didn't bother to call me or call Seamless. When I asked why I wasn't called, they said their phone couldn't dial out of the area. Idiotic and rude. Seamless was great on the other hand and canceled the order right away.

I ordered my food 50 minutes ago (I live 2 blocks away from this place) and it still hasn't arrived yet. I called and the manager was EXTREMELY RUDE and said that food was on the way and hung up on me without checking my order # or anything. I'm extremely disappointed at this place.

Order said it would take 15-30 min. After 45, I called and was told that the order wasn't going to be sent out b/c they didn't have any of the things I ordered, and I wasn't called bc my phone is out of local area code. I asked why they didn't call SeamlessWeb then, and was told b/c they were too busy and without apology.

Waited over an hour-- didn't tell me they didn't have chilli, assumed I wanted chicken soup.. Salad also didn't have shrimp or grape leaves in it like I ordered so basically I paid alot for money than what I should have... Terrible

TERRIBLE customer service! They called me to tell me "We No Have," that he was just the cashier and that he was too busy to talk to me over the phone. He then told me to cancel my order and HUNG UP on my face. All i wanted was a savory crepe. :(

I ordered a salad and the lettuce didn't look very fresh...some of it had a brownish look to it, and i picked those pieces out. Also, i asked for a future order (i.e ordered in the morning for lunch a few hours later) and it showed up like 20 min after i ordered, so they obviously cant follow the directions of the sight, other than that the food was alright i guess, but I don't think I'll order salad from them anymore.
